xin1 nian2 kuai4 le4! and nail art, yipee! =)

|

this is just a quick note on chu2 xi1 to wish one and all a blessed chinese new year =) xin1 nian2 kuai4 le4, wan4 shi4 ru2 yi4! :)

and in the light of the festive occasion, i painted my nails! toenails are silvery pinkish and fingernails are super beautifully done (hahah, ego here)with nail art (read: nail stickers shaped as pink and white small flowers) and varnished with a transparent layer of top coat =p (thanks to mich, i recently discovered what top coat means =p hahahah, yes yes i know i am a really tu3 person, but what can i say, we learn something new everyday! have never really been too much of a make-up person, so yups, there's my excuse! *grin*) why transparent? cos i simply cannot stand having coloured nail polish on my fingernails, too distracting lah! *grin*

and no i did not go for a manicure or pedicure! too expensive lah =p i just invested in nail stickers, nail polish and top coat, and had a little fun decorating my own nails :) and would so love to take a photo of my nails to show you guys or at least just to keep for memory sake, since they are still relatively in tact and beautiful, but my digi cam is spoilt and my phone camera can't take nice non-blurry shots of detailed stuff, so i guess those of you whom i see over cny, will be able to see my fine nail art =p the rest, sorry man! =p

ever since i painted my finger nails, i've derived so much utility just looking at them *smiles* hahaha, yes, i know i am easily happy :) but that's good ain't it?

happy new year! have fun visiting family and friends, catching up on old friendships and making new friends! and of course, what's new year without the hong bao and the yummy goodies and food! eat and drink heartily, we have much to celebrate about! praise the Lord! :)

reaching for the stars :)

|

yes, reaching for the stars with SHE has been my latest obsession to speak of :) and i actually like this series, as much as meteor garden, if not more, simply because it has only 22 episodes and doesn't purposely drag on the show for no reason other than to lengthen the series =p

the plot may seem impossible or incredulous, but i love it! it's simple and yet intricate... i felt that most of the actors and actresses portrayed their roles really well, and especially so for the male actors, if a source i read on the net suggests correctly that they are not actors but models by profession =p

and of course it helps that i think that guo yan jun, the guy playing the role of liang zheng hao, is super cute =) (yes, you just heard me say it, he just looks super good lah) facial features, displaying stability, reliability, emotion-filled and yet his eyes and lips so full of love ... plus he also looks good in whatever he wears, suits and casual clothes alike, though i personally prefer him in the latter, more close to the heart i feel =p plus, the role he played, was so real and so good, i'm convinced he made the show much better =p (okay so i'm biased, but for understandable reasons, it's been a long time since i last had a crush on some drama serial character, used to be the characters that the F4 played in meteor garden, note: the roles they played, and not them in real life)

and the scenes are interwoven very nicely, suspense is kept well, plot has many folds but yet doesn't appear complicated, everything resolves well in the end, and the bit i like best, appropriate and very nice music interjects and fills certain scenes nicely, beautiful! in order of favourites, i especially love wo3 bi3 xiang3 xiang4 zhong1 ai4 ni3, zai4 yi1 ci4 yong1 bao4 and the theme song, xing1 guang (i think that's what it's called) ...

as you can see, i like the show quite a bit and am actually considering buying the series for keepsake, think i found something online selling the whole series for US $9.99, not a bad deal i think, so i'm thinking about it ... so i don't quite understand why the show hasn't been receiving all that good reviews =p but well, liking a show is subjective so we'll leave it at that =p

*grin* here are a few shots that i could find on liang zheng hao ... in this shot, he's the one on the extreme right in the black and white suit...

this one's fairly obvious =p

couldn't really get any decent sized photos on him in his casual attire in the show, for some reason, those i found are all small or pixelated, so it is a little disappointing =p but well, c'est la vie! *grin*

just dropping in to say hi :)

|

awaiting a response from a friend before leaving nie for tuition, so am currently in the library's computer lab enjoying the aircon :) hence, thought that i would drop a quick hello to follow up with my recent blog post =p

and also a quick question: anyone going for the chingay parade on the 3rd or 4th of feb this year?

also, has anyone been for previous chingay parades? are they worth going to? rt, you have been to chingay before right? is it good fun? =p

i'm back =p and eagerly awaiting chinese new year .... *grin*

yes, yes, i know i haven't updated for a really long time *sheepish look* but you know, sometimes you're just really not in the mood for blogging =p and this previous period was just one of the lull periods from blogging =)

school has started once again and we're now in our second and final sem ... work already set in since the first week, and our big test looms in the near future =p but before that, chinese new year awaits! *hurray*

i seem to be especially excited about chinese new year this year, what with the opportunities to meet up with my cousins and have fun with them, as well as all the yummy steamboats that my mummy and grandma will be preparing, and not to mention the hongbaos too!

it seems like a cycle: when you are a kid, you are super excited about cny, then cny gradually grows to lose its flavour as we grow up, and then one fine day, when you're back at my age again, where you're in your in-between years, you get excited about cny all over again =p not sure why, but some people may even attribute this to the fact that at our age, there's nothing much to look forward to in life, such that cny becomes something to look forward to ...

but i beg to differ, i am looking forward to cny in anticipation of the warmth of the season, the interactions with my younger cousins and the yummy cooked food of the season .. my aunties yummy 'thick' beehoon with curry, my grandma's steamboat soup with drenched cabbage and fishballs with fried skin, and my mum's delicious chicken curry and steamboat with chilli ....

oh, the anticipation ... i just can't wait! now, we're just left with the countless assignments, etc, etc, to complete before cny awaits ... only this year, it's a first that cny's first day falls on a sunday, so i actually have to wake up to go for church first before going visiting, an interesting perspective indeed, cos usually we wake up rather late on first day of new year and leave to have lunch at my auntie's place ... so this means i prob won't be able to stay up too late the night before, if not i will be zonked out on the whole day one of cny ...

hmmm, class starts in about 20 minutes, so i think i will stop musing here =p take care y'all! *hug*
