what a life!

|

we're full of paradoxes ...

1) we're debating stuff that can't be solved, just to create intellectual discourse
2) we somehow like the security, but we itch for less constraints and regulations, which contribute to that same security to a certain extent
3) we want the best, even though we aren't prepared to give up what we have to attain what we want
4) we try very hard to stimulate creativity, when on the other hand, society seems to respect those who toe the line more
5) we go around in circles, only to find out in the end that we're more confused than before
6) we want to gain the glory for past successes, but yet we try to attribute blame to yesterday's solutions for causing today's problems
7) we go thru a loop of 30 odd years with the illusion that we live in a country which has once experienced miraculous growth, only to find out that in the end, our country's total factor productivity has generally been negative or below 1% (except for rare exceptions), and we wonder whether our economic miracle was really a miracle to begin with
8) we complain that the government is too restrictive and being too much of a nanny, but we complain that the government is not doing enough to deliver what we want
9) we like to ramble on and on and on, without caring what others think of us, but at the same time, we need that audience to listen to us and respond to what we have to say
10) we like to speak in oxymorons, act out paradoxes, but at the same time, we long for a simple, non-stressful life

what a life!
